A poor country girl is seduced and becomes pregnant. When she is abandoned by her lover and loses the baby, she can no longer bear the shame of village life and runs away to the city. There she turns to prostitution in order to survive. The death of a dear friend makes her see the error of her ways and she returns to the family fold.
